RaceLayer Privacy Policy

Overview

RaceLayer includes a browser extension, an iOS and iPadOS app, and a product website that display live race timing and related data alongside compatible video streams. This policy explains what data RaceLayer and its service providers process, why it is used, and how users can control it.

Data We Collect

RaceLayer collects only the data needed to provide account, subscription, and extension functionality:

• Google or Apple account information used for sign-in, such as email address, display name, profile image when provided, and provider account identifier.
• Authentication session information used to keep the user signed in and verify account status.
• Subscription entitlement information, such as plan, subscription status, current period end, and payment-provider customer or subscription identifiers.
• Extension settings stored locally in the browser, such as overlay enabled state, delay setting, language preference, layout preference, selected target URLs, replay selection, and driver filters.
• iOS app settings stored on the device, such as a user-provided stream URL, timing source, delay, overlay preferences, map preferences, layout, and driver filters.
• A randomly generated iOS app user identifier used to retrieve and verify App Store purchase entitlement. RevenueCat may process this identifier together with product, transaction, subscription, device, and diagnostic information needed to provide purchase services.
• Formula 1 timing, replay, track map, race-control, speed, and sector data requested from remote data sources to provide live timing and related features in the applicable RaceLayer product.

Data We Do Not Collect

RaceLayer does not collect browsing history, website content, personal communications, health information, precise location, or user activity for advertising, tracking, profiling, or resale. RaceLayer does not collect or store credit card numbers. A stream URL entered in the iOS app is stored as an app setting and is not sent to RaceLayer account servers; the player requests that stream from its specified host.

How We Use Data

RaceLayer uses collected data only for the extension’s single purpose:

• To sign users in with Google or Apple and identify their RaceLayer account.
• To verify subscription entitlement and unlock Pro features.
• To save user preferences between browser sessions.
• To save iOS app preferences on the device and play a compatible stream requested by the user.
• To process, restore, and verify iOS App Pro purchases.
• To display live timing, replay, track map, race-control, speed, and sector information.
• To open subscription checkout and account-related pages requested by the user.

Sharing and Service Providers

RaceLayer does not sell user data. RaceLayer may process data through service providers that are necessary for the products to function, including Google OAuth and Sign in with Apple for website and extension sign-in, Supabase for web account and entitlement records, web payment providers for Browser Extension Pro, and Apple and RevenueCat for iOS App Pro purchases, restoration, and entitlement verification. These services process data under their own applicable privacy terms.

Remote Data and Code

RaceLayer does not execute remotely hosted code in the browser extension or iOS app. Product logic is packaged with the applicable product. Remote responses from RaceLayer services, authentication providers, purchase providers, timing endpoints, replay APIs, and track-data APIs are used as data only and are not executed as code.

Data Retention

Local extension settings remain in the user’s browser until the user changes them, clears extension data, or uninstalls the extension. Local iOS settings and the generated app user identifier remain on the device until changed, cleared, or removed with the app, subject to platform storage behavior. Account, transaction, and subscription records are retained by RaceLayer and applicable providers as needed for authentication, entitlement verification, purchase restoration, subscription management, security, and compliance.

User Controls

• Users can sign out from RaceLayer to clear the active website session.
• Users can change or clear extension settings from the extension options page.
• Users can revoke Google account access from their Google account security settings.
• iOS users can change app settings in RaceLayer, restore purchases in the app, and manage App Store subscriptions through their Apple account.
• Users can request account or data deletion by emailing [email protected].
